Nanci Weneck

American-born soprano, Nanci Weneck, is increasingly becoming a favorite with Hungarian audiences. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance in the US, studying with her mentor, Seán Deibler, under whose baton she successfully sang the role of Madame Heartmelt in Mozart's Impresario and later moved on to more dramatic roles such as Mother in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors and Angelica in Suor Angelica.

Making her way to Europe, Ms. Weneck was accepted at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and currently studies under the guidance of Erika Sziklay with a focus on interpretation of lieder and a particular emphasis on contemporary music.

Giving her Hungarian debut with Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915, she has since performed numerous solo recitals to the piano accompaniment of Emese Virág. These programs have included works by Charles Ives, GianCarlo Menotti, Máté Hollós, Ödön Mihalhovich and György Orbán.
